Jason Carpio is a California-based Designer + Art Director specializing in strategic design solutions for print & web.
Born in the Philippines, Jason started drawing at a young age. His medium of choice were graphites and charcoals, allowing him to draw realistic portraits with ease and finesse. It is through portraiture that he became accustomed to a disciplined way of image-making.
Some of his early visual influences came from hand-painted movie billboards in Manila, the bold, vibrant designs of the iconic "jeepneys", and industrial drafting, where he developed a deep appreciation for structure and precision.
At age 15, he moved to the United States where he discovered Graphic Design, the perfect confluence of visuals and the written word. His education (both formal & informal) honed his critical eye and developed his onging exploration for new ideas, new materials, and new processes.
Jason also loves coffee and contemporary art.
